About Pamella

I began my love of exercise in high school and college where I studied Ballet and Modern dance. After graduating from University of South Carolina I moved to San Francisco where I met and married my dear husband Scott. We eventually moved to Gig Harbor to raise our children Cooper and Veronica.

I began teaching fitness classes in 1996 at the Gig Harbor Athletic Club. My classes always had a bit of a flare to them. I love dance and liked to add my own version of a classic step move. I loved teaching large groups but was missing the personal connection that I knew I could get through personal training. I became certified through The American Council on Exercise 6 years ago and I stay very current with all new trends and changes.

Throughout my years of training individuals I felt a strong desire to teach group classes again. This time I wanted the class to include all of the important things I teach my personal clients. Those include a strong sense of safety both physically and spiritually, pure movement from the core (which I learned in dance), balanced strength, and fun (always).

I soon developed Yoga Fusion.

I am a great believer in Yoga. Yoga Fusion uses simple Hatha yoga postures and stretches. Some of the time it is not traditional yoga by most standards but it is fun! For instance I’ll add a lunge or a squat or even a modern ballet leg extension for what I call a “Yogaish” move. Although I have not had years of traditional Yoga training, I have been certified in levels 1-3 with Yogafit which is an international Yoga training organization that specializes in fitness yoga.

Yoga Fusion was born out of the need to be complete in our body. With Yoga Fusion we fuse all aspects of fitness; abdominal core work, dance, balance, strength training, and simple meditation. It is exactly what I have been hoping to teach for many years!

I believe completely that it is in giving that we receive. I encourage my clients to give of themselves each day in any small way they can. I encourage clients not to judge others for they will surely be hard on themselves if they do. I believe that it is in loving ourselves, and being proud of whom we are, that we will become physically what we strive for. In the end whether we wear a size 5 or 12 what will matter most is our health and the size of our heart.

I look forward to seeing you in class some day!
